This weekend Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) will host the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500. Among the many festivities at PIR this weekend, the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales are scheduled to make a appearance on Sunday, November 9.
Last weekend there was a public brawl at the Texas Motor Speedway. Driver Brad Keselowski was at the center of the altercation after he had a late-race contact with Jeff Gordon’s car. You don’t think that they are trying to gin up merchandise sales do you? Who knows, but this weekend should surely provide some fireworks. So don’t be the one who got left behind.
In a recent blog about this NASCAR series we offered a few general tips to make your life easier out at PIR this weekend and a few maps of the layout of the area around the track. The Bank of America 500 race had just happened. Danica Patrick got a little love tap and two racers lost their engines. Earnhardt fought his stick shift. All in all it was very exciting.
In that blog post we mentioned a very helpful site called Laidback Racing. A great site with lots of information to make your NASCAR race event smooth and, well, laid back. At the time we thought they only blogged about another track. But the information was transferable so we shared it.
NASCAR Tips:
In today’s NASCAR limo post we dive a little deeper into NASCAR tips that can make the event more enjoyable for you. It can be really hectic attending a NASCAR event. If nothing else its very exciting and the tension just hangs in the air. So be prepared. Do a little homework. You’ll thank yourself.
Here’s a few tips we gleaned that we thought you would find useful:
- Do not bring alcohol to the track, Arizona state liquor law prohibits it.
- No glass containers are allowed in the grandstands.
- Hard-sided coolers will not be allowed into the grandstand area.
- Styrofoam coolers are also not permitted.
- Two key changes to the policy to note:
- Soft-sided coolers that measure no greater than 14 x 14 x 14 inches. This is six times the size previously permitted. (Telescoping handles and wheels will not be permitted.)
- Lightweight backpacks or daypacks will be permitted
-
- Examples include:
- a soft side insulated cooler, a scanner bag, a fanny pack, a purse, a diaper bag, or a binocular bag, etc.
- One clear plastic bag, no larger than 18 X 18 X 4 inches. To accommodate samples received and purchases made after fans have parked their cars.
- Binoculars, scanners, headsets, cameras, not in a bag, worn separately over the neck or on the belt and seat cushions carried separately are also allowed.
- Seat cushion bags with compartments will be reviewed on an individual basis
That is a pretty thorough run down of what you can and cannot carry into the race this weekend. Laidback Racing also has a lot of tips on parking and driving directions. But you don’t need those because we are going to take care of that for you. Trust me you will enjoy the pampering. And you deserve it!
